Josh Niblett, Hoover Head Coach

The Hoover Bucs were set to play their first game of the season in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta but due to the NFL standards during this coronavirus pandemic, the game site had to be changed.

Hoover was set to play Lowndes (Ga.) and new head coach Jamey Dubose in the opener which is part of the annual Corky Kell Classic and now the game will be changed to Mill Creek High School in Atlanta.

Currently the game is scheduled with Lowndes on August 22 for a 6 p.m. kickoff. "We had been in communication with the Corky Kell Classic, " said Bucs Athletic Director Andy Urban. "The NFL protocols being adopted were too much to undertake. We are thankful to Mill Creek and the organizers of the event. We are hopeful our student athletes and community get to experience this fantastic event."

Due to the change of venues, teams will sell limited number of seats. The official number has not been set yet but it will be way less now with the game being played at a high school. Game tickets will be sold on the Corky Kell Classic website.
