MADISON, Alabama -- Quarterback Paul Tyson threw for five touchdowns and ran for one touchdown as #4 Hewitt-Trussville rolled over #9 Bob Jones 52-18 in a Class 7A, Region 4 game Friday night at Madison City School Stadium. "Great playmakers with great playcalling by our coaches. Real good offensive work. We had real good tempo in the first half." For the season, Tyson has completed 121-of-166 passing for 1,703 yards with 21 touchdowns and just one interception.

Hewitt-Trussville (6-0, 3-0) scored first in the game when Elliott McElwain ran in the end zone on a 2-yard touchdown run with 10:03 in the first quarter. The extra point was blocked so with 1:48 left in the first quarter, Hewitt-Trussville led 14-6. In the first half, Creed Parker had an interception and a fumble recovery for the Huskies defense. "I was really pleased how our team play," said Huskies Head coach Josh Floyd. "I really liked how we came out and set the tone to start the game. I think our pace helped us in the first half. We played a lot of plays and I think we wore them down a little bit. Our O-line did a great job of letting us establish the run and take our shots down the field."

In the second half, Hewitt-Trussville scored again after forcing Bob Jones to punt as they had the ball to start the second half. With 9:45 left in the third quarter, Tyson found Reagan on a 27-yard pass play and the Huskies led 42-6. "That was a great game up front," said offensive lineman Pierce Quick. "Coach told us that if we can beat them up front, we will do well on offense and we dominated up front and won the game. We all talked before the game that we were going to protect Paul (Tyson.) This was a big time win. We wanted to make a statement and I think we did tonight."

With 8:18 left in the third quarter, Bob Jones scored on a 27-yard touchdown run to cut the Huskies lead to 42-12. Up next for Bob Jones is a game at Gadsden City while Hewitt-Trussville will host Sparkman.
